Final Year Engineering Project completed at Arkeale (Strasbourg), a cleantech company, tasked with designing a biocapsule to valorize organic waste — a product with no existing internal reference to build from.
The design had to satisfy functional, material, and manufacturing constraints across 40 parts and 5 sub-assemblies, with every interface dimensioned and toleranced to ISO 2768 / ISO 1101 / ISO 1302 and validated by tolerance stack-ups and fit studies.
Sole mechanical designer, from concept through the full definition dossier: produced all 25 dimensioned and toleranced drawings, structured the product's technical data (BOM, assembly tree, revision indices, change traceability) for a PDM/PLM environment, ran the FEA on static and vibration behavior, wrote 3 technical dossiers, and led prototyping, testing, and validation with 4 suppliers.
Structural optimization achieved an 18% mass reduction at equivalent stiffness; prototyping lead time was cut by 20%.
